Most of my professional experience has centered around technical writing, including user guides, online help, configuration guides, and quick reference guides. I have worked with a variety of publishing tools, including InDesign, Word, PageMaker, Epic Editor, RoboHelp, Flare, and FrameMaker. I have a strong technical aptitude and a natural ability to write concise, easy-to-follow instructions.
I excel at creating attractive, functional, and modern web-based help. I also can use RoboHelp or Flare as single-sourcing tools to generate multiple user documentation outputs.
I have gained project management experience through college, on-the-job training, and the certificate program at the University of MN. My current position at Medtronic is focused on managing documentation projects, including managing product life cycle management based on U.S. and international compliance standards. At U.S. Bank, I managed multiple projects simultaneously using Excel spreadsheets, SharePoint databases, SharePoint calendars, and LotusNotes libraries. I create work flows of documentation procedures using Visio, and create collaborative workspaces using SharePoint.
While I don’t have the back-end knowledge required to create and manage large-scale web sites, I do have enough technical knowledge to create professional, attractive, and interactive web sites using WordPress or Dreamweaver. I’m comfortable editing HTML code and CSS style sheets. This is ideal for creating small business web sites, online portfolios, and internal employee web sites.
